Garachico

Located on the north coast of Tenerife, the town of Garachico stands out as a symbol of resilience and charm. Founded in the 15th century, this town was the island’s main port and a thriving centre of commerce. However, its heyday was disrupted in the 17th century by a volcanic eruption that devastated its port.

Far from disappearing, Garachico rose from the ashes, determinedly implementing an economic and architectural revival that has now made it one of the best-preserved historical sites in the Canary Islands and it has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

Today, Garachico invites visitors to stroll through its charming streets and enjoy its exquisite cuisine and local wines, with its fascinating coastal landscape featuring the iconic Roque de Garachico Natural Monument as a backdrop.
